Ezra 3:7-13

3
Chapter 3
7 And they gave silver to the stonecutters and artisans and food and drink and oil to the Sidonians and Tyrians to bring cedar wood from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the authorization of Cyrus king of Persia. 8 And in the second year after their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, they began—Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak and the rest of their brothers, the priests and the Levites and all the ones coming from the captivity to Jerusalem—and they appointed the Levites from a son of twenty years and upward to oversee the work of the house of the LORD. 9 And Jeshua stood, with his sons and his brothers Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, as one, to oversee the workers in the house of God—the sons of Henadad, their sons and their brothers the Levites. 10 And the sons laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, and the priests stood dressed in trumpets, and the Levites sons of Asaph in cymbals to praise the LORD by the hand of David king of Israel. 11 And they answered with praise and with thanksgiving to the LORD, for he is good, for to eternity his steadfast love is upon Israel. And all the people shouted a great shout of sacred sounding with praise to the LORD over the founding of the House of the LORD. 12 And many of the priests and the Levites and heads of the fathers, the elders who had seen the first house at its founding, wept at the sight of this house with a loud voice, and many shouted joyfully. 13 And the people could not distinguish the sound of the trumpet blast of joy from the sound of the weeping of the people, for the people were shouting a great trumpet blast, and the sound was heard far away.
